Alex Rodriguez Signs New Deal With New York Yankees

According to ESPN Alex Rodriguez has apparently agreed to a 10-year, $275 million deal to return to the New York Yankees.
It seems the deal could pay Rodriguez millions more if he sets the career home-run record,by breaking Barry Bonds’ own.

Barry Bonds Indicted On Perjury Charges

Home run king Barry Bonds has been indicted on federal perjury and obstruction of justice charges.Bonds lied when he told a grand jury in 2003 that he did not knowingly take performance enhancing drugs. The indictment reads in part:

Tim Hardaway says he hates ‘gay people’

Retired Miami Heat guard Tim Hardaway said Wednesday that he hates gay people, but later said he regretted the remarks.

“You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don’t like gay people and I don’t like to be around gay people,” he said while a guest on Sports Talk 790 The Ticket. “I’m homophobic. I don’t like it. It shouldn’t be in the world or in the United States.” (more…)

Jays,Vernon Wells agree to $126M extension

Vernon Wells said he wanted to take care of his kid’s kids. He’ll get that chance with the Toronto Blue Jays. The All-Star center fielder and the Blue Jays agreed Friday night to a $126 million, seven-year contract extension through 2014, the sixth-largest deal in baseball history.

“How can you not be happy?” Wells said during a telephone interview with The Associated Press hours before terms of the deal were finalized. “Like I said, my family comes first. Obviously this gives me an opportunity to set my family up for a couple of generations. That’s the biggest part of this thing. And this gives me a chance to do something special in Toronto that hasn’t been done in a while.” (more…)
